Getting Started for OB

Adagio participates in Google Open Bidding as a demand access partner, enabling publishers to access multiple sources of programmatic demand through a single integration.

All auction participation, reporting, and billing remain managed through Google Ad Manager. Adagio does not replace Google’s monetization stack and does not require publishers to use a separate reporting interface to monetize Open Bidding traffic.

Prerequisites

Before starting the Open Bidding onboarding with Adagio, you must:

  • Have an active Google Ad Manager
  • Be eligible for Google Open Bidding
  • Have access rights to add bidders in your Google account
  • Know your Google Pub ID

Add Adagio as an Open Bidding bidder

Publishers can add Adagio as an Open Bidding bidder directly from the Google Ad Manager UI.To learn how to start the onboarding process, please refer to Google’s official documentation: Onboard online with Open Bidding buyers

Adagio onboarding flow

During the onboarding process, you will be redirected from Google to Adagio to complete the following steps:

1 – Identify your Adagio setup

when you arrive on Adagio, you will first be asked whether this publisher already works with Adagio through another integration.

  • If you already work with Adagio
You will be asked to sign in to your existing Adagio account.
Once authenticated, you will be able to select the relevant publisher account and continue the Open Bidding setup.
  • If you do not yet work with Adagio
You will be asked to create a new Adagio publisher and user account by completing the onboarding form

2 – Create your Adagio account (new publishers only)

If you are a new Adagio publisher, you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Company name
  • Inventory ownership (see explanation open-bidding-faq.md)
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address

You will also be required to accept the Adagio Open Bidding addendum in order to continue.

3 – Return to Google Ad Manager

After completing the steps on Adagio:

  • Return to the Google Ad Manager tab where you started the onboarding process
  • Complete the setup in Google Ad Manager to confirm your acceptance of the terms and conditions and add Adagio to a yield group.

You can return to Google Ad Manager at any time during the process. The integration is only completed once all steps are finalized.

Review and vetting process

Adagio reviews your application and inventory as part of its vetting process.

Your application will appear in one of the following states in the Google UI:

  • Pending: your submission is under review
  • Approved: your submission has been approved and monetization can begin
  • Rejected: your submission was not approved

Due to volume, Adagio may not be able to provide detailed rejection reasons for all applications.

Update app-ads.txt lines

To monetize your inventory through Adagio on Google Open Bidding, you must declare Adagio and its demand partners as authorized sellers in your ads.txt (and app-ads.txt for apps).
